1. Introduction

Forex trading is a stressful job where emotions often control decisions. Many traders lose money not because they lack skill, but because fear or greed makes them break their own rules (Smith, 2022). This project uses the idea of Authentic Leadership (AL) to help traders like me stay calm, disciplined, and honest when trading.

  2. Main Goal

The goal is to become a more disciplined trader by practicing the four parts of Authentic Leadership for three weeks. I will measure success by checking how often I follow my trading rules and how many emotional mistakes I reduce.

  3. Why Authentic Leadership

Authentic Leadership focuses on truth, self-control, and personal values—exactly what a trader needs.

  • Self-Awareness: Keep a daily journal to understand my emotions.
  • Moral Perspective: Follow written risk rules strictly.
  • Balanced Processing: Review both good and bad trades fairly (Chen, 2023).
  • Transparency: Share my journal with a mentor to stay accountable.

    Three-Week Plan

  • Week 1: Trade normally and record every emotional mistake (baseline).
  • Weeks 2–3: Use the AL journal daily and meet my mentor weekly.
  • Final Step: Compare results to see if discipline improves (Lee, 2021).

Expected Results

By using AL, I expect fewer impulsive trades, stronger discipline, and more stable results. This

project also shows that leadership is not only for managing others—it can also help manage

ourselves (Jones, 2024).
